How long does Oculoplastic surgery take?

The surgery is performed under light sedation with local anesthesia and takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours to perform based on the condition.

Is Oculoplasty covered by insurance?
Yes…for most of the cases because majority of the conditions are considered as medical problems not simply cosmetic surgery, and as such, your medical insurance will cover their treatment.
Is Oculoplasty surgery painful?
It is least painful cosmetic procedure. You may feel minimal discomfort on the day but you’ll have a quick recovery and see the results swiftly.
Is Oculoplastic surgery safe?
It is safe but there may be little risks of eyelid surgery that could include: Infection and bleeding. Dry, irritated eyes or Difficulty closing your eyes can occur for some time.
Does the patient awake during the surgery?
The surgery may lasts between one to three hours. To keep the patient comfortable during the procedure , he/she will be given a general anesthesia. Local anesthesia will numb the eyelid and surrounding area, while keeping the patient sedated but awake during surgery.
