Cataract
A Cataract is when the lens of the eye gets cloudy. Cataracts can cause short-sightedness (myopia), which means you cannot see things in the distance but can see things that are close.

What Happens In Cataract

The primary function of the lens is to bend and focus light to create a sharp image. For that, the lens uses the help of ciliary muscles to stretch and thin out when focusing on distant objects, or to shrink and thicken when focusing on near objects. Your eye lens should be clear, but with a cataract it is cloudy. Having a cataract can be like seeing through a foggy or dusty glass windshield. As result, things will appear blurred, hazy or color faded.
